Week #40, 2025
Week #40 of 2025 has arrived... Week 39 is gone. never to be heard from again. You will never be able to change what did or didn't happen in week 39 of 2025. Trying will only bring you pain.
Time to walk over to your 4K Weeks poster and fill in another square. Done?
It's funny how I can believe in you... It's so interesting how I can be 100% certain you will have success, if you will just apply yourself and let the chips fall, and then in the same day, doubt myself. I think it's an expression of ego. "I want..." I want it to go this way... I want THIS flavor of success. I want I want I want I want... those are words of distraction... The only time I am really content is when I focus on the work, not the results.

ON WEEK #40 OF 1965...
Pope Paul VI was the first Catholic Pope to leave Italy since 1809 when he addressed the United Nations and met with then US President Lyndon Johnson. This was also the first time a Catholic Pope visited the Western Hemisphere.
He was 3,549.14 weeks or 68.06 years old.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK
"I prefer to be true to myself, even at the hazard of incurring the ridicule of others, rather than to be false, and to incur my own abhorrence." -Frederick Douglass
So many spend so much time trying to keep up with and maybe even impress the Joneses. For some reason lately I have seen quite a bit of it.
I have always had a chip on my shoulder about this. I know I desire that the Jonses see me as successful, and so I have actively had to kill that part of my ego... regularly and often. The best way to do this is to regularly put yourself out there in the way you don't want to be perceived... it's like building up a callus. Seneca said "Set aside a certain number of days, during which you shall be content with the scantiest and cheapest fare, with coarse and rough dress, saying to yourself the while: 'Is this the condition that I feared?'"
It is so much more rewarding to spend that "keeping up appearances" energy on deciding who you are, and then ruthlessly holding yourself accountable to that high standard.
The only way to know where you stand is to have cleared that ground yourself. And once you have, there is no wind that can force you in any direction that you don't want to blow.
The worst scorn comes from a man who has let himself down.
WHAT I AM THINKING ABOUT THIS WEEK
Progress.
OMG. Keep moving forward! Seriously. Go, just go!
I hired this great guy last week. I hired him for the studio, to direct, shoot, and edit video for a content idea that I had, and also to capture the magic that I think exists in the studio.
Neither one of us knew what we were doing, or getting into... sure, we both have our areas of expertise, but we only had a rough idea what we were trying to do.
And so, we did the only thing we could, which was to jump into the cloudy swamp, feet first, get moving and try to figure some things out... and sure enough, we did!
I still don't have any idea if the stuff we make will be good, or interesting, or if people will want to see it, but that doesn't matter as much as the fact that we started. I know we are doing our best and heading somewhere.
If you want to make progress, you just have to start.... somewhere!
Don't think it to death, don't let the great be the enemy of the good, don't worry about anyone's opinion of something you haven't made yet. Make it and move on!
This is a short one this week, but I really felt the universe pulling me to tell someone to GET STARTED! Maybe that person is you... if it isn't, then maybe you are the person that the universe is trying help me use as a messenger...
So, either YOU need to GO FOR IT! this week, or YOU need to encourage someone to GO FOR IT! this week.
This is your mission, should you choose to accept it.
Until next week!
